A
former Niger State gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Peoples
Democratic Party, Engineer Zakari Inuwa, has dismissed fears expressed
that the insecurity situation in some parts of the North will threaten
the 2015 general elections in the country.
“I do not see any threat to the 2015 general elections now and even in the future especially with what I saw in Zamfara State during the local government congresses of the PDP which I conducted recently”, he said.
Zakari, who was Chairman of the Congress Appeal Panel which conducted the local government congresses of the PDP in Zamfara, also predicted that the PDP will unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, administration in the state. He noted that the people of the state were more united and ready to vote out the Abdul-Aziz Yari-led APC government in the general elections next year.
Besides clinching the state from the APC, he boasted that the PDP will win the 2015 presidential election.
The former gubernatorial aspirant said besides the success of the local government congresses, his panel took time out to listen to the grievances of party members from all wards in the state and ensured that they were resolved amicably.
“The amicable settlement of the political differences among the electorate paved way for the successful conduct of the local government congresses that led to the emergence of new party officials in the state”, Zakari stated.
