The
Peoples Democratic party National Youth Frontier commends the
leadership of the PDP, the National Executives committee , the Pdp
Governors Forum, and the PDP national assembly member, for endorsing
president jonathan as the sole candidate of our great party for the
forth coming general election , the unanimous decision taken by the wise
men leading our party is worthy of our commendation ,as a youth group
we are solidly behind this decision, nobody was forced to step down ,
neither was anybody bully to that decision , this demonstrate internal
democracy and unity under the umbrella and democracy has been nurtured
to maturity by our great party PDP.
This gesture will allow our
president more focus and concentrate on delivering of dividend of
democracy to Nigerians, it shows that transformation agenda is working
and the unanimous decision to adopt president Jonathan as a sole
candidate shows the widely acceptance of president Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan by all of us .
The group also wishes to emphasis that
the sole adoption of the president is unanimous therefore the outgoing
governors must not forced anybody to step down for their own candidate
as that will jeopardize the internal democracy enjoying by PDP.
There
must be a level playing ground where the aspirants will test their
popularity, democracy is not monarch, we don't want any crown prince,
let the electorates decide who governs them, therefore we are solidly
behind the statement from the PDP national leadership via the publicity
secretary that PDP will provide a level playing grounds for all the
aspirants, that is where we stand, there should be all subject to
screening and proper primary election, let the popular candidate emerges
and we will be sure of good governance, peace, internal democracy
within our party and proper deliverance of dividend of democracy.
We
have seen many candidates indicating interest for the governor, senate,
house of representatives, assembly and others, that is the beauty of
democracy , we are asking for level playing ground, we don't wants
imposition, and god fatherism , President Goodluck Jonathan has
reassured the international community that the 2015 elections would be
conducted in accordance with global best practices. He gave the
assurance at separate meetings with the United Nations
Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki Moon, and the British Prime Minister, Mr
David Cameron, in New York.
Jonathan, at UN General Assembly,
stated that international observers would be allowed to freely monitor
the elections to make them free, fair and credible as his administration
had promised.
Therefore we must assist our president in ensuring he kept to his promise.
