Former
President Olusegun Obasanjo is not letting age deter him from achieving
his dreams, the 77 year old going back to school y’all!
Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, is set to go back to school for a Master’s degree.
Today
(Sept. 30) OBJ will formally enroll as a graduate student of the
National Open University of Nigeria in Lagos, where he will be studying
towards getting a Masters degree in Christian Theology. He is working
towards getting a PHD, having received his Post Graduate Diploma in
2009.
Speaking on going back to school at 77, OBJ told Premium Times,
I’m going back to school because I have to have something to aspire
to in every endeavour of life, I always aspired to something new in my
farm. I do that in my international activities. I do it in my writing. I
do it in the improvement of my academic work, which helps to sharpen my
brain and strengthen my faith.
Speaking on how he would juggle studying with being a statesman with a lot of international engagements, Mr. Obasanjo said,
Fortunately, the Open University is flexible enough and I will
definitely be able to cope. I was able to cope when I did the Post
Graduate. I was also busy during the period
