Kanar said that 10,000 IDPs were registered within the last two days adding that several thousands were still trooping into the camps.
He said the state government had provided over 100 vehicles to help evacuate those that were stranded in the bushes and highways after escaping the insurgents’ attacks in Mubi and Uba towns.
He said that President Goodluck Jonathan had directed the immediate release of thousands of tons of relief materials to be distributed to the IDPs to ease their suffering.
According to him, NEMA had been working with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency to reach out to IDPs who escaped to Cameroon.
The District Head of Daware, Alhaji Muhammadu Iya, thanked the federal and state governments for their effort to reach out to the IDPs.
Iya advised government to organise a special prayer to seek the Almighty’s intervention toward ending the attacks pointing out that such divine intervention was the only permanent solution to the crisis.
