PDP National Convention: Daniel, Kashamu, Abiola-Edewor Emerge As National Delegates In Ogun


PDPThe immediate past governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the Chairman of the Organization and Mobilization Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu and the first daughter of the late winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Lola Abiola-Edewor, yesterday, emerged as national delegates from Ogun State in the local government congress held in the 20 council areas of the state.
Daniel, Kashamu, Abiola-Edewor and other leaders of the party were elected to represent their local government areas at the December 10 and 11 national convention of the PDP, where President Goodluck Jonathan, who was adopted by the ruling party’s National Working
Committee, NWC, over a month ago, would be ratified as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2015 election.
While Mr. Daniel, who only recently defected back to the PDP from Labour Party, emerged from Sagamu Local Government Area, Kashamu and Abiola-Edewor emerged as national delegates to the convention in Ijebu North and Abeokuta North, respectively.

Others who made the national delegates’ list were two former deputy governors of the state, Mrs Salimot Badru and Mr Rafiu Ogunleye, representing Ipokia and Ijebu East.
Two former chairmen of the party in the state, Chief Joju Fadairo and Bashorun Dayo Shoremi were also elected as national delegates from Ifo and Odeda local government areas respectively.

Others who also emerged as national delegates include retired General Kehinde Fasasi (Remo North); Otunba Tunde Olowu (Ijebu North East); Dr. Femi Majekodunmi (Abeokuta South); Babatunde Osholake (Obafemi Owode) and Mary Ogunjobi (Imeko Afon).
