DANBABA SUNTAI SPEAKING WITH REPORTERS AT THE JALINGO AIRPORT IN JUNE SHORTLY BEFORE HE WAS FLOWN TO THE UK FOR A SCHEDULED CHECK UP. THE GOVERNOR IS UP FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF MEDICAL TRIP TO THE UK ON MONDAY.
Recuperating Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, is to be flown back to the UK for further medical treatment today, a few weeks after he was suddenly brought back by loyalists to forestall his purported impeachment from office.

Governor Suntai was involved in a plane crash near the Yola Airport in Adamawa State in October 2012. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment for brain-related injuries in Specialists’ hospitals in Germany, US and the UK.

Disclosing this latest development last night, Chief Press Secretary to acting Governor Garba Umar, Kefas Sule, confirmed that the state government had concluded all necessary arrangements for Suntai’s return to UK to continue his recovery.

“I can confirm to you that governor Suntai would be returning to London for further medication and the state government is footing the bill for the trip which includes a chartered flight to the UK”, he said.

The governor, who is expected to leave the country aboard a chartered aircraft, would be accompanied by his wife, Hauwa; his personal physician, Dr Kara; some family members and close personal aides.
