He said, “What Nigeria needs urgently is a good leader, one who believes in peace, progress and development of the country and the welfare of the people. Nigerians need to elect a good leader in 2015”.
Reacting to the withdrawal of security details for his personal protection by the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to All Progressives Congress, Tambuwal accused the police boss of double standards but said he would not dwell much on the issue since he had gone to challenge it at court.
He said, “Recently, the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko defected to PDP alongside the Speaker of House of Assembly.
“The IGP did not say the Speaker should vacate his seat. Why is he now making such pronouncement in my own case.
“Is it a case of different laws for different people? Anyway, I have gone to court, so I rest my case.
“I must, however, commend well-meaning Nigerians, political and civil society groups for their supports”, the speaker stated.
