Enyeama – I Won’t Leave Lille To Sit On The Bench Or Take A Pay Cut

Vincent Enyeama will not jump at the prospect of joining a top English club to end up a bench-warmer in the Premier League.
The Nigeria first-choice goalie’s current contract with French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille runs until winter 2016, but that has not stopped several English top-flight sides from disclosing interests.
“I still have two more years left on my contract at Lille, but if I must move, it has to be something special, not for nothing,” Enyeama said in an interview.

“I won’t take a pay cut or sit on the bench because I want to play in the EPL because I’m a winner, a competitor.”
Enyeama penned a three-year contract extension at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy last year, but reports suggest Lille are willing to sell at the right price.
Coach Rene Girard, just last month, thrashed speculations that Liverpool and Sunderland had tendered offers for the 32-year-old, stressing: “we have no intention of letting go one of our best players.”
