Vanguard checks show that the body was discovered a day after Valentine’s Day at Okwu village. The deceased was suspected to have been defiled, as a closer look at the corpse, according to an anonymous witness who spoke to Vanguard, revealed bruises, especially around the br**sts and private parts. The witness said she must have been gang-defiled.
“I am not too sure that it was a case of ritual killing because no part of the girl, on the face value, was missing.
“It is, to me, a case of brutal gang-defiling to death of the unfortunate girl.”
The witness further told Vanguard that nobody knew how the lifeless body was dumped along the road at Okwu or who did it.
The traditional ruler of the community, Eze Leo Nwokocha, also told Vanguard that the identity of the dead lady was still unknown. He said once the police was alerted, some officers went to the scene to remove the corpse and had since commenced investigation.
The body of the girl had been deposited at the morgue of Aboh Mbaise General Hospital.
Nwokocha expressed confidence in the ability of security agents to get to the root of the matter and ensure the perpetrators of the heinous crime face the full wrath of the law
