Whenever it’s written, the history of Nigerian music will not be complete without a worthy mention of veterans like John Asiemo popularly called Daddy Showkey.
This veteran Galala singer ruled the industry in the 90s, inspiring several younger ones from far and near. Despite all the odds faced by artistes of his generation, Daddyy Showkey still stands tall and to a large extent, is still very much around and relevant.
In 2014, he made a comeback with a couple of singles, top of which is his collaboration with Five Star music act, Harrysong on the song ‘Asalamabeez’ accompanied with a Clarence Peters-directed music video.
Away from his impressive career that has spanned over two decades, the veteran singer can’t seem to manage not keeping his mouth open anytime he poses for a picture.
Over the years, now 45-year old Daddy Showkey has made leaving his mouth extremely wide open a signature pose for pictures and it’s gradually becoming a trend amongst his fans and followers….
