A TEENAGE girl suspected of being a suicide bomber was today clubbed to death and set on fire in northeastern Nigeria.
A crowd soon overpowered the girl – and found she had two bottles taped to her body.
The teenager was clubbed to death by the mob who the put a tyre soaked with fuel over her body and set it ablaze, witnesses reported.
Yam vendor Mohd Adamu told the Sky News that the suspected bomber was accompanied by another teenage girl – who was later arrested.
Police Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Haruna described the teenager as a victim of "mob action carried out by an irate crowd".
The Superintendent added it was doubtful the dead girl had been a suicide bomber since she would have detonated her explosives when she was attacked.
Nigeria has been plagued by a vicious spate of suicide attacks blamed on Islamist group, Boko Haram.

He claimed the increase in attacks was a retaliation for the success of the Nigerian military in regaining towns previously under the terror group's control.
