What choice will you make if you’re caught between investing part of your NYSC savings in a venture that may yield some profit or channeling same funds into improving your knowledge base in a career program that you stumbled upon and will entail you temporary relocating to another state without any assurances of breakthrough other than the success possibilities enumerated in a prospectus by its facilitators which was the only reason you’re even giving it any thought?

 Well, my opting for the latter launched me into a specialty that has opened the doors to a professional career in Server Administration which can only but flourish. My names are Temitope Adeyanju.

Funny enough I was originally admitted for their networking program which gave me a thorough feel of what is like to be on the job thanks to the plethora of devices at our disposal and the varied practical sessions we undertook but somewhere down the line the leveraging power of Server Administration was mentioned and given my quest to have an edge over my fellow intakes, I enrolled for it even though this meant parting with what’s left of my savings and staying extra weeks in Lagos with just a meagre change for my upkeep.

Yes, you can say that was too much of a risk but with what followed months later, I’m glad I did because back at my base in Ibadan weeks later, I got a job with a fast-moving consumer goods company on the back of my server proficiency which gave me an edge over others vying the post coupled with the job-like experience I had during the training. I’ll forever be grateful to Deft-Rains Solutions – the organizers for directing my path and I’m hoping my story will give you the needed courage to make more daring capacity building choices and be better for it.
