This morning, some social media users said they were locked out of Federal Secretariat because they were late for work! haha! I'm so loving this new administration.
A lady called Aishat Alubankudi posted the above picture on her facebook page and wrote “It’s alleged that late comers were locked out at Federal Secretariat today! WAI (war Against Indiscipline) has started!”
Rex Michael Ogboro said; “During Jonathan’s reign senators were seen jumping the gates breaking the gates and abusing powers lavishing abuses from their mouth onto securities personnel. Would that repeat this now? If you want you work, work if not resign give other serious minded people chance. Be disciplined”
A Lagos worker, Adegboyega Adebayo also said; “I know we have a long way to go in bringing back lots of our lost values. With this happening, we are on the right track. Consequent ones should attract punishment /appropriate discipline”
It would be recalled that Buhari ruled Nigeria from January 1984 until August 1985, taking charge after a military coup in December 1983.
One of the most enduring legacies of his government has been the War Against Indiscipline (WAI). Launched on March 20, 1984, the policy tried to address the perceived lack of public morality and civic responsibility of Nigerian society.
Unruly Nigerians were ordered to form neat queues at bus stops, under the eyes of whip-wielding soldiers. Civil servants, who failed to show up on time at work were humiliated and forced to do “frog jumps”.
Let's wait and see if he will enforce it fully in this administration too.
