ALGIERS- “The civic commitment of the young people in Algeria” will be the theme of a forum of the United Nations for the Algerian young people which will take place Wednesday, in Algiers, on the occasion of the celebration of the International Youth Day for 2015.
This event is organized by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in association with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the NET-MED Youth Project of UNESCO and the association SIDRA.

This day, observed on 12 August every year, “shows the importance of young people as the engine of societies, and will bring together Algerian young people and development professionals from the business and environmental milieu as well as from associations,” said the organizers.
The participating young people will present, on this occasion, their experiences in terms of civic commitment in this meeting, which will also be marked by the organization of interactive workshops on several themes, including “education, employment, health, environment and development.”
This forum aims at “promoting the participation and civic commitment of young people so that they can make their contribution to the society’s welfare and build a model of sustainable development,” and it will also highlight the “success of Algerian young people in their projects,” added the source.
