CONSTANTINE- The Arabic language is "a constitutional reference and an unchanging principle," said Thursday in Constantine Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, calling "not to confuse proposals made by education experts and teachers with State's decisions."
"The Arabic language is a constitutional, civilizational and cultural reference and unchanging principle, as for the Tamazight language, which should be developed as part of the preservation of the national unity," said the Premier, who is on working visit to the province of Constantine (431-km east of Algiers).
"This sovereign choice is part of the unchanging constitutional principles relating to the national identity," he added.
Sellal underlined that "the programme of the President of the Republic is clear in this regard and the mission of the Government consists in implementing it, in accordance with his action plan making sure that the Algerian school preserve all its foundations."
The proposals made during the national conference on education system will be thoroughly examined, he added.
