A faction of the embattled Shiite Muslims yesterday accused the Nigerian soldiers of defiling their female members in the course of the clash in Zaria, Kaduna.
The Nigerian army has informally reacted to claims that they r*ped some Shiite women before killing them during the Zaria massacre.
According to The Nation, a top military source, who preferred anonymity, said the allegation was senseless, adding that it was impossible for anybody to attempt to rape during “exchange of gunshots.”
He said: “You will agree with me that a man cannot be aroused, let alone think of rape during exchange of fire. So, the allegation is senseless.”
