NAN reports that the police prosecutor, inspector Sunday Eigbejiale told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 3 at about 9.50 p.m. at Mokola area of Ogun capital.
The accused, whose address is unknown, is standing trial for one count charge of murder before Chief Magistrate, Anthony Araba.
Eigbejiale explained to the court that the accused unlawfully killed his friend, Akeem Agbadaowo, a 25-year-old man when he attacked him with a machete and a broken bottle during a dispute.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence was contrary to Sections 316 and 324 of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
Chief Magistrate Araba, ordered that the accused be kept in prison custody pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and adjourned the case till January 9, 2015.
Meanwhile, the lifeless body of a policeman simply identified as Onu Adeyi found in the reportedly caused panic among residents of Gboko area, Benue state.
