Kano Pillars came back from a goal down to beat Kaduna United and retain their top-of-the-table berth as, Enyimba and Warri Wolves both won- the latter whitewashing Crown FC- to mount pressure on the defending champions in the title run-in.
Wolves routed Crown FC 7-1 in Warri. Stanley Dimgba scored a probable choice for the fastest goal of the season as Wolves trounced Crown. Dimgba struck just after 26 seconds, but Nedum Francis pulled a goal back for the visitors after the forward had doubled the ‘Seasiders’ lead.
Super Eagles forward Gbolahan Salami grabbed a brace to increase his tally for the season to 17. Substitute Ifeanyi Edeh, who came on for the ex-Shooting Stars striker, converted Paul Aigbogun side’s seventh. Eduok strikes came on 14, 22, 31, 49, 71 and 77 minutes, with the third netted from the penalty spot.
A brace from Tunde Adeniji helped Sunshine Stars seal a 2-0 win over Gombe United in Akure. Youth prodigee Aniekpeno Udoh scored his first ever Glo Premier League goal as Akwa United defeated Bayelsa United in Uyo.
Abdulmalik Mohammed’s brace guided Taraba FC past Lobi Stars at the Jolly Nyame Stadiium, while Super Eagles forward Ighodaro Osaguona scored the only goal from the penalty spot in Rangers win over Sharks FC in Enugu.
Substitute Collins Nwaneri salvaged a point for Heartland International within seconds of coming on for the visitors in the last of the 2014/15 Oriental Derby after Chisom Chikatara had opened scores for hosts Abia Warriors on 51 minutes.
The match between Giwa FC and Nasarawa United was rescheduled for Wednesday, October 29 by the LMC.
