Ndoma-Egba-Why I Won’t Participate In Fresh C’River PDP Congresses

Victor Ndoma-EgbaThe Senate Leader, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), has vowed not to take part in the rescheduled Peoples Democratic Party’s ward congresses for Cross River State, slated to hold today, Monday, November 24.
Ndoma-Egba, who stated this in a statement personally signed by him in Abuja on Sunday, based his decision to stay away from the exercise on his respect for the judiciary and rule of law.
According to him, “there are pending litigations before a Federal High Court in Abuja and a Cross River State High Court over the ward congresses organised by the PDP on November 1”.

The senate leader added that the courts had before the congresses were rescheduled to 24 November, issued hearing notices to the parties to the suit that judgment will be delivered on the 24th November.
He said, “I am a lawyer of thirty six (36) years standing, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Leader of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which is the country’s highest law making body.
“I therefore will not do anything to undermine the sanctity of our judicial process and the judiciary.
“Our institutions are far more important than my personal ambition, indeed any persons’ ambition. Our democracy will never be complete without the rule of law. We must therefore give the Judiciary her place and respect”.
