Nigeria defender, Keneth Omeruo is available for selection
for the final 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match
against South Africa in Uyo on Wednesday.
The on-loan Middleborough FC centre back did not feature in
Saturday’s crucial victory against Congo in Pointe Noire because of a
groin problem, but has now began training.
Meanwhile, Godfrey Obaobona has beeen suspended for the showdown between after picking up his second yellow card of the campaign in the 2-0 win over Congo.
Obaobona was earlier booked in the match against South Africa in Cape Town.
Hope Akpan will also be sidelined from playing at the new Akwa Ibom International Stadium with a dislocated shoulder.
The Reading midfielder landed badly after challenging for an aerial ball during Saturday’s victory.
Akpan who was earlier feared not be fit in time for the faceoff with South Africa due to be played in his hometown, has received a boost ahead of the match as X-Rays showed he only dislocated his shoulder rather than fracture, his recovery is however expected to be sooner than earlier feared.
