Midfielder Blaise Matuidi has withdrawn from France squad after breaking his hand at the weekend.
Matuidi was originally in coach Didier Deschamp’s squad for their
upcoming friendlies against Albania and Sweden but will now miss out
after sustaining the injury in Paris St-Germain’s 2-0 Ligue 1 victory
over Marseille on Sunday.
“After suffering a fracture of the second and third metacarpal on the
right hand during the Classico on Sunday evening, Blaise Matuidi will
not be able to join up with the French national team for the two
friendly matches against Albania and Sweden,” read a statement on PSG’s
official website.

“Eric Rolland, the doctor from Paris Saint-Germain confirmed this to
Franck Le Gall, doctor of the Blues. Following this, Didier Deschamps
called up Lyon’s Maxime Gonalons to join the squad.”
The French Football Confederation also confirmed that Chelsea
defender Kurt Zouma had been called into the squad due to doubts over
the fitness of Loic Perrin and Eliaquim Mangala.
