We Have Enough Aircraft To Fight Insurgency – NAF

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said that it had sufficient aircraft to fight insurgency in the country. The Force had also sought to boost the fight against terrorism in the country by resuscitating its C-130 aircraft.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosun re-commissioned the aircraft after an eight-week C-check inspection work by NAF personnel under the leadership of the Chief of Aircraft Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, in conjunction with a foreign partner, Sabena Technics of Italy.

“The aircraft is force multiplier. By this I mean it is s a logistic based aircraft. It’s going to help in hauling men and materials in times of war. Presently we have three different points from where we launch to the theater of war and this airplane keeps going all over the country to pick men and materials to these places. We have sufficient aircrafts for now to prosecute whatever we have at hand,” said Amosun, who was represented by the Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Olutayo Oguntoyibo.

“As you can see, this is in addition to our preparation towards the build up for 2015. As politicians are doing their own business, we in the Airforce are also preparing. We are very ready and are poised to assist in which ever way the governments ask us to come up, in terms of moving materials and personnel about.

We will work hand-in-hand with INEC depending on their requirement just to make sure that electioneering materials are where they are supposed to be and for quick delivery and timely execution of programmes,” he said.
