Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly has landed the rapper his first U.K. No. 1 album. He knocked Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour into second place with just 572 copies, according to the Official Charts Company in the U.K.
To Pimp a Butterfly Has beat Kendrick’s last full-length effort, good kid m.A.A.D. city peaked at No. 16 during its 15-week chart run in the U.K. in 2012.
The new album also broke Spotify’s streaming record last week, notching up 9.6 million streams on it first day of release.
