A husband and wife were hospitalized after the man attempted to
commit suicide. The 39-year-old man of Taichung, Taiwan, attempted to
commit suicide after suspecting that his wife was having an affair. The
man took a small propane tank and placed it in his work room. He opened
the gas, and waited to die. Odd News Blog reports:However, his wife soon returned home and tried to stop him from committing suicide. The two began to talk and attempted to reconcile their differences. The husband closed the propane tank and the two went into their kitchen to continue their discussion.
The man then returned to the workroom. Forgetting that the room was still filled with propane gas, he lit a cigarette, causing a huge explosion.
People who heard the explosion called emergency workers. The husband and wife survived, but were badly burned. The husband regained consciousness shortly after the explosion and took his unconscious wife to the bathroom, where he immersed in a bath of cold water until emergency workers arrived.
No one else was injured in the explosion and most of the damage was to their property. The two have been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
