Adegun was kidnapped at 8.00pm alongside his wife , Mrs. Kikelomo Adegun and taken to an unknown destination.
They were kidnapped few metres from the gate of their house, at Goshen Avenue, Oke Ila, Ado Ekiti capital city.
A source at the hospital confided to newsmen that none of the family has been contacted by the kidnappers and that their whereabouts still unknown as at the time of filing this report .
The source further said, that the medical practitioner had earlier attended a wake keep at Nova Primary School, GRA in Ado Ekiti and left the place in his Toyota Avensis car before calling at his wife’s shop to take her home.
“On getting home, they saw that the gate had been blocked with another car. And as they were making efforts to call the driver to order, they were rough handled and cramped into the car and drove away speedily .
“Though, they didn’t take the victim’s car away. Immediately, we called the police and the SSS and they have started making contacts to ascertain their location”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria in Ekiti, Dr Olusola Aduloju, who lamented the insecurity in the health sector, has ordered members to withdraw their services until Adegun is found.
“We are taking this step so that the government can provide security for us. We are tired of this situation and we have ordered our men in
EKSUTH to withdraw their services until our member and his wife are found.”
When contacted , the Commissioner of Police of the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr Joshua Ibine, confirmed it.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Information, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, has appealed to the doctors to shelve the plan to suspend work until Adegun is found, saying such step won’t be in the interest of the state, particularly for those with critical ailments.
