In a statement by its spokesperson, Mr Felix Ale, the agency said the moon would be seen on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 with the first crescent in Abuja appearing at 6:45pm to 7:15pm with sunrise at 6:22am and sunset at 6:42pm.
It said in Maiduguri, Borno State, the first crescent would be sighted between 7:23pm to 7:53pm, with sunrise at 5:57am and sunset at 6:21pm.
For Kano and Katsina, the NASDRA said the first crescent will be experienced at 7:14pm to 7:44pm, and 6:46pm to 7:16pm respectively, while sunrise for Kano will be 6:15am and sunset 6:40pm, and Katsina, at 6:18am for sunrise and 6:44pm for sunset.
“The agency is by this, calling the attention of all relevant authorities to take note of these moon conditions for the appearance of the first crescent”, the statement concluded.
Meanwhile, the first day of Ramadan will be Thursday (June 18) according to the Saudi Supreme Court.
The pronouncement was made after there were no reports of the new moon on Tuesday evening.
