Dr Tanga Odoi
The National Resistance Movement has put the amount of money it collected in hopeful candidates registrations to Shs 2.6billion.
While addressing the media this afternoon at the party headquarters at Kyadondo Road in Kampala, the party Electoral commission Chairperson Dr, Tanga Odoi observed that the exercise had proved the strength of the ruling party.
“In only a period of one week I have been told by the party treasurer that we have so far collected over 2.6 billion shillings from these nomination forms,” he said.
President Yoweri Museveni and Amama Mbabazi are some of the figures that are yet to fill thenomination forms.Odoi went to remind interested aspirants that are yet to pick their forms that there would not be any time extension after July 31st.
Odoi revealed that the biggest number of aspirants were picking forms for the posts of district chairperson and members of parliament.
