Susan Sarandon is defending Ariana Grande’s donut licking and America bashing. On Twitter on Thursday, the actress encouraged her followers to “lick a doughnut in solidarity with @ArianaGrande. A sweet, talented, true American.” Sarandon accentuated her tweet with emojis of a donut and the American flag. See the tweet below.
As Gossip Cop reported, surveillance cameras at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California captured Grande seemingly licking some donuts on display. To make matters worse, the singer can be heard on the video from July Fourth saying,“I hate Americans. I hate America.” On Wednesday, Grande apologized, insisting that she’s “proud to be American,” and her comments were taken “out of context.”

While Rob Lowe called Grande’s apology “lame,” and radio talk show host Laura Ingraham labeled the singer a “stupid, spoiled, entitled pop princess,” Sarandon has come to her defense. After tweeting how everyone should “lick a doughnut in solidarity with @ArianaGrande. A sweet, talented, true American,” the actress reiterated to her followers in a second message, “I adore @ArianaGrande.”
