Justin Theroux turns 44 on Monday, just days after getting married to Jennifer Aniston on August 5, and to celebrate his birthday, Gossip Cop looks back at five really wrong rumors about the actor that we exclusively “blew out.”
Theroux started dating Aniston in 2011, and the tabloids immediately began publishing inaccurate reports about the couple, usually involving false claims about weddings, breakups, and babies. Gossip Cop exclusively correctedStar in 2011 when the tabloid announced, within months of them meeting, that not only had Theroux secretly married Aniston, but also that he was going to be a dad.
Gossip Cop also exclusively corrected HollywoodLifewhen the webloid claimed around Christmas 2012 that Theroux had “finally married” after having a secret wedding ceremony at their home. That was just one of many tales from the highly unreliable site, also wrongly reported that Theroux had eloped with Aniston in Mexico.
In February 2014, In Touch made up a story that Gossip Cop busted, alleging Theroux ditched Aniston on her 45th birthday and that they were “headed for a permanent split.” We were exclusively (and accurately) told the report was completely untrue.
OK! falsely asserted in June 2014 that Aniston’s friends, including Courteney Cox, Ellen DeGeneres and Chelsea Handler, were urging her to dump Theroux. Of course, all of those friends who supposedly told Aniston to leave Theroux happily toasted the couple at their August 5 wedding.
And finally, Gossip Cop exclusively busted a January 2015 OK! cover story that alleged Theroux had a “wedding in paradise” with “pregnant Jen.” Once again, Gossip Cop was first to debunk that false report. With the passage of time, all of our stories have proven to be accurate, while all the webloid and tabloid tales have be shown to be complete lies.
In addition to being Theroux’s birthday, August 10 also happens to be the three-year anniversary of his engagement to Aniston. Gossip Cop wishes Theroux a happy and rumor-free birthday!
