Jason Derulo performed for an excited Hamptons crowd at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation gala in Sagaponack on Saturday night.
Telling the crowd of the nonprofit organization, which provides musical teaching and instruments to public schools, Derulo said without music, he would have been headed for “a life of trouble.”
He added he was honored to use his platform to give back.
Guests at the event, which raised nearly $1 million and was held at Julie and Billy Macklowe’s home, included fellow hosts Charlie and Lauran Walk, Donny Deutsch, Bethenny Frankel, LuAnn de Lesseps, Bobby Flay, Blade founder Rob Wiesenthal and “Orange Is the New Black” actress Selenis Leyva.
