Scott Brown put in a usual, gutsy performance for Celtic in Azerbaijan tonight as the Hoops progressed to the Champions League play-off round.
Ronny Deila’s men are now just two games away from reaching the promised land of the competition’s group stages.
And you could see exactly what it meant to his captain when the full-time whistle went, as he screamed in the face of defensive midfielder Gara Garayev. The pair had been niggling away at each other all night, and Brown was furious with Garayev for trying to get him booked during the first leg at Celtic Park.
Garayev’s dirty tactics and gamesmanship came back to haunt him when all was said and done, however, as he was on the receiving end of the full-on Broonie treatment.
There are unconfirmed reports that Garayev is currently on the phone to El Hadji Diouf, hatching a revenge plot.
Stay tuned to talkingbaws on Friday morning, when we’ll be keeping you updated with exactly who Celtic will face in the next round.
