ALGIERS-The International Labour Office (ILO) said Monday in Algiers that the Algerian experience in the field of social protection and social dialogue was "unique" in the Arab world and Africa.
"The Algerian experience in social protection and social dialogue is unique compared to all the Arab and African countries," said ILO office's Director in Algiers Mohamed Ali Deyahi at the works of a Regional conference on South-South cooperation in the field of social security.
Deyahi added that Algeria records "tangible" results in social field, stressing that "social protection is a fundamental on which we build a just and balanced society."
"It is an essential tool for reducing poverty and inequality and stimulate inclusive growth by improving the health and capacities of vulnerable people so that they contribute effectively to the increase of productivity and the development of the national economy," he added.
He also praised the "commitment" of Algeria in favor of a solidarity economy and job creation as an essential condition for a comprehensive and sustainable development ".
