I think this is a joke of a sorts. Former Chelsea goalie, Petr Cech still believes that his former employers are favorites to lift the trophy, despite their poor start to the season.
Chelsea, who are the current holders of the EPL trophy have had a horrendous start to the league, winning two games of eight and they sit 16th on the table.
Jose Mourinho has actually termed his current tenure at Chelsea, the worst of his career, but will not resign his post.
Cech who joined Arsenal from the London club, is certain the rut they’re currently in is temporary.
“Their form surprises me because Chelsea are among the best in the Premier League,” he told iDNES.
“I am no longer there, so it is hard for me to evaluate what is going on. Anyway, the season is long and Chelsea are still favourites in my eyes.”
However, the Czech Republic international is happy with his new side’s current form and still feels his they can put up a fight to win the league this term too.
“After the first defeat for us against West Ham, everyone said that we can never win anything big. Now we are again being compared to the most famous Arsenal, who didn’t lose during one season.
“I just know that we have a team that can fight for the title until last round.”
“Twice Arsene Wenger has decided that David Ospina play in the Champions League over me and I have to respect that. In such a big team and in such a long season it is not possible for a man to play all the time, though I obviously wanted to.”
