A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday dismissed fresh 50 count charges against former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had filed N19.2 billion fraud charges against Sylva, who is the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa.
Ruling on a consolidated preliminary objection filed by defence counsels, Justice Adeniyi Ademola held that the fresh charges amounted to an abuse of court process having been earlier dismissed by two federal high courts.
