Liverpool fans might want to remember the name Ben Woodburn if it turns out he can score more goals like this.
The club’s Under-18 team put three past Cardiff without reply last night as they advanced to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.
It was a polished away performance from Neil Critchley’s side, with Woodburn, Corey Whelan and Brooks Lennon all finding the net in the 3-0 victory.
But the game was all about Woodburn’s goal as he netted a ridiculous lob to get the scoring underway.
It started with a long, searching ball back to front from Adam Phillips and ended with the young Welsh striker taking the ball down on his chest before lobbing it first time over the Cardiff goalie. Our words don’t really do it justice:
With that type of talent for finishing, you’d expect Woodburn to be a point of interest for coaches and fans of the Anfield club.
Woodburn is definitely a name we will be looking for in the future.
