Dasukigate: 3 Reasons PDP National Officers Want Metuh, Mohammed To Step Down

Olisa Metuh-EFCC

Deputy national officers and some members of the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC in a statement issued by the deputy national youth leader, Dennis Alonge-Niyi; the deputy national legal adviser, Bashir Maidugu; the deputy national organizing secretary, Okey Nnaedozie and the deputy national publicity secretary, Abdullahi Jalo of the the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  have called on Haliru Mohammed and embattled national publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, to honorably step down until they clear their names of the corruption charges hanging on their neck. Information Nigeria in this report has put together why they want them to step down…
– The claim that if the two of them keep their position in the party, it will create an “erroneous concept that the party tolerates corruption”.
– Since the party was never involved in their respective involvement in the allegations as they both received the funds using accounts of their private companies without the knowledge and instructions of any organ of the party, the party should not be dragged into it now that they are being investigated by holding on to their respective positions in the party.
– Because the party was not involved financially or in anyway with the office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, or any organ of the federal government in the last administration, therefore all those mentioned in the ongoing corruption trial are on their own.
The PDP has always maintained that Buhari’s anti-corruption war was  a witch-hunt against its top members, doesn’t this call by deputy national officers and some members of the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, who said they spoke on behalf of all deputy national officers of the party negate that stand???
