A Nairobi court has summoned former Transport Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau for a hearing of a corruption case on Thursday.
The former CS was not in court on Wednesday because of an undisclosed illness, prompting the prosecution to apply for an arrest warrant.
The request for a warrant was declined and instead the summons was issued.
The former CS is charged with willful failure to comply with government financial regulations.
This is in relation to the design of the Kamukuywa-Kaptama-Kapsokwony-Sirisia road, which led to a massive embezzlement of funds by a phantom contractor.
