Dickson Warns PDP Aspirants In Bayelsa Against Unguarded Utterances

Gov. seriake_dicksonGovernor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has warned politicians vying for various elective offices in the state in 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to guard their utterances and actions in order not to mislead the public.
This is just as the governor reaffirmed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan and asked the political class and indigenes of the state to support the president’s re-election bid.
There were reports of insider wrangling among PDP members in the state over the zoning of political offices.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, on Saturday, Mr. Dickson warned the politicians not to make reckless statements that could be used by the opposition against the state.

“Party faithful, especially those seeking elective positions and their supporters should be mindful of their utterances and actions, as same could be used by the opposition to paint a wrong or misleading position of the state of affairs in the State”, he said.

Mr. Dickson also restated his resolve to “carry on with the policies and programmes of his restoration agenda, despite the dwindling resources of the state, occasioned by revenue shortfalls from the Federation Accounts”.

The governor renewed his call on Bayelsans to remain supportive of the government, saying it meant well for them, even as he pointed out that the state chapter of the PDP, remained “one peaceful, united and focused family” under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan and himself.

According to Dickson, he and the president, an indigene of the state, were working together for the good of the state and the nation in general.

“The PDP in Bayelsa State is working collectively and rallying the needed support for President Goodluck Jonathan and the party to achieve maximum success in next year’s elections”, he said.
