The member representing Ifako-Ijaye/Ojokoro Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yomi Ogunnusi, has predicted that his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, will win the 2015 presidential election if it fields Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as presidential and vice-presidential candidate respectively.
Mr. Ogunnusi, who is Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, also kicked against the presidential bid of former Head of State, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd), saying he should not emerge as the party’s flag bearer but should instead play the role of an elder statesman.

The federal lawmaker, who is popularly known as ‘Ilabe’ by his friends and associates, further advised a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, not to be involved in political administration but should stay on the sidelines and play the “Obafemi Awolowo role as leader of the Yoruba”.

He said this during a chat with reporters shortly after presenting his scorecard to his constituents in Lagos, on Sunday.
“In my opinion, Tambuwal should be the presidential candidate of the APC while Amaechi should be the Vice President. Tambuwal is not a tribalist, he knows all of us in the House up to our constituencies”, Ogunnusi said.
