PDP Calls For State Of Emergency In Nasarawa State


PDP LogoThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Nasarawa State have called on the federal government to declare a state of emergency in the state following what they described as uncontrolled killings and man slaughter by foreign mercenaries imported into the state.

The state chairman of the party, Hon Yunana Iliya, who made this call on behalf of the stakeholders at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, alleged that the mercenaries, who were imported in their tens of thousands were armed with latest assault weapons and had destroyed more than 25 towns and villages in the last two months.

According to the stakeholders, which included the immediate former governor of the state, Akwe Doma, former minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, Senator Solomon Ewuga among others further alleged that the mercenaries burnt houses everywhere they went, shooting and slaughtering women and children.
“The attacks, which are highly professional and military in nature, are carried out in the night and early hours of the morning”, they said.
