A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Malam Nasir El Rufai, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primaries in Kaduna State.
Other results of the primaries as announced by the Election Committee Chairman, Prince Ekeyem Nwafor, showed that Haruna Sa’eed, Abdullahi Ango and Salihu Mohammed Lukman fared poorly as they garnered paltry 127, 25 and 22 votes respectively. 28 other votes were declared invalid.
With his victory at the primaries on Thursday, the ex-minister will fly the APC flag in the 2015 governorship election for Kaduna State against the incumbent, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who is tipped to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ticket.
Meanwhile, all the other contestants have congratulated Mr. El-Rufai haven agreed to support anyone that emerged at the primaries.
