The
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State says it will adopt
consensus to determine the candidates that will contest in the state
House of Assembly elections.
The Public Relations Officer of the party, Alhaji Sani Dododo, told
the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, that a
seven-member committee from the headquarters of the APC would supervise
the primaries for the state.
“We will remain law abiding by following the laid down rule for primaries but we will ensure that the primaries take place, even though we have agreed on consensus to elect our candidates”, he said.
He said the strategy was to give new entrants into the party a true sense of belonging, stressing that it would consider all options to ensure fair play and equity to new and old members.
Dododo said the APC in the state would work towards winning the state House of Assembly elections and other elective political positions. (NAN)
