Youth Congress for Change (BYCC) which supports Buhari criticized Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi for his open letter to General Muhammadu Buhari where Gumi urged presidential aspirant to leave his 2015 ambition.
The Youth Congress for Change urges Gumi to stop taking part in the political processes in Nigeria and to continue to preach peace and unity of the country instead.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Katagun called Nigerians to ignore statements of Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
Alhaji Katagun says that Dr. Gumi was wrong when he made this statement. Katagun also expresses his hope that Gumi will address to the General personally if he wants to give him advice and not in the public like he did.
Answering the part of the letter in which scholar Sheikh notes that the General is too old to rule the nation Katgun states that the one who makes a good leadership starts from the age of 60. Besides, he adds that General Buhari remains the incorruptible leader the nation has ever had.
“We believe there is something secret the Scholar is keeping away from the public about General Buhari because this is certainly not the first time he is telling the General to step down. He did same thing during the 2007 race between the General and late Alhaji Musa Yar’adua.”
“We believe there is no competent candidate among all the APC presidential aspirant than the general. We therefore call on people of Nigeria to shun the call because it is capable of causing chaos in the nation,”Alhaji Katagun stated.
