APC Denies PDP Allegation Of Clandestine Meeting With Jega In Dubai, Slams Media For ‘Rubbish’ Journalism

APCThe All Progressives Congress (APC) Wednesday denied allegations by the spokesperson of the Jonathan Campaign Organization, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode that the national leadership of the opposition party was holding clandestine meeting with the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega in Dubai.
Fani-Kayode had alleged: “Pieces of information on our disposal have shown that Jega has had meetings with APC stalwarts in Dubai and other cities in the world to perfect this wanton conspiracy against 23 million eligible voters. Besides, we have information that the PVCs that Nigerians are scrambling for are not in Nigeria and will not arrive before elections. These PVCs are still in China and Professor Jega has strategically delayed their arrival to suit his electioneering permutations”.

However, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the party was busy carrying out its campaign and had no reason to meet with anybody.
Mr. Mohammed mentioned the names of the national leadership of the party and queried, who among them was said to have met with Jega.

Irked by the report of the purported meeting, the APC spokesman said: “People must be very daft. Now let me ask you; who is the APC leadership that has been meeting with him (Jega)? I am here, Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) is here, (national chairman) Oyegun is here, Bisi Akande is here, all our governors are here.
“Who is the leadership that he is meeting with in Dubai, tell me. We are all meeting tonight. So what kind of rubbish journalism are you people practicing? Don’t people check their facts?” he queried.
Mohammed added: “National chairman is here, National Secretary is here, none of our governors has travelled abroad. Then if all these people are here, who is the leadership of the party that Jega is meeting with. The NEC of the party is meeting tomorrow, while the Caucus is meeting on Friday and we are all in Abuja.
“So, who is the leadership you are talking about if the national chairman is not there, national secretary is not there, deputy national chairman is not there, other NWC members are not there, Asiwaju is not there, Buhari is not there, Akande is there and all the governors are in situ”.
