After decades of embargoes and diplomatic stand offs, the United States and Cuba have begun the process of renewing diplomatic ties.
In a move which has been expected for months now, both countries have announced the reopening of embassies in Havana as well as Washington.
Travel restrictions have been relaxed since December 2014 and holds promises that the diplomatic freeze out since the time of Fidel Castro will thaw in good time.
The United states removed Cuba from a list of sponsors of terror last month and President Barrack Obama even made the huge step of meeting Raul Castro in April, going on record as the first American President to meet a Cuban leader in 50 years.
