After weeks of worry by Nigerians as well as concerns as to when President Buhari intends to form his cabinet, the President has confirmed today that no ministers will be appointed until September.
After closely contested elections and a victory for the opposition party for the first time in 16 years, many Nigerians were expecting swift and miraculous changes after years of rot and maladministration.
Already, President Buhari has earned the nickname “Baba Go slow” among his critics while his staunch supporters call him “Baba Go steady”.
In his article today in the Washington Post, he stated “When cabinet ministers are appointed in September, it will be some months after I took the oath of office.”
It is a confirmation of reports early in his tenure that he intended to take his time to form a cabinet.
