The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Tuesday said having successfully resolved the crisis in the House of the Representatives, the party would now attempt to resolve the outstanding issues in the Senate in a  different manner.
Few minutes ago, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila was appointed the Leader of the of Representatives,  and he paid a visit to the national secretariat of the APC  in Abuja,” Oyeguun said.

Oyegun who commended the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara,  and other House members for the show of patriotism in allowing a peaceful settlement of the crisis in the lower legislative chamber, noted that the party has now started the healing of wounds.

Oyegun who spoke with journalist in Abuja shortly after the news of the emergence of Gbajabiamila as the House Majority Leader, said the with that feat, the party had begun the process of healing of the wounds caused by the rancorous emergence of the National Assembly leadership.
“I want to commend the Speaker and his for their sense of patriotism. It is my hope and expectation that the wounds will now be totally healed that the APC family will now reunite fully as one,” he said.
The APC national chairman also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their patience, saying “I have already offered our regrets. This is part of growing, we are new to government and we are democratic and above all, progressive movement.

“We are in the process of welding all the various tendencies into one and today we have scored one major victory and I can assure the country that the party has begun the process of healing all the wounds and becoming one strong force. We are moving from being a movement into one strong political party that will back the president for the good of the entire country,” he said.
However, the National Chairman stated that the Senate crisis would be approached differently.
Regarding the crisis in the Senate he said, “Senate is a different level and different situation. It is totally different if only because we have a sore thumb in the form of a PDP Deputy Senate President.
“So I think it is totally different and the approach and the way we are going to handle the situation will be totally different.  But at the end of the day, even the Senate issue will be sorted out too,” he said.
Oyegun had pushed for Gbajabiamila’s emergence as House Leader in a letter he wrote to the Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, after he lost the speakership of the House.
