Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, has given money to the victims of recent Boko Haram attack in Gombe.
The amount of money, donated to 48 victims, wasn’t revealed.
Hajiya Aisha Jibir, member representing Dukku/Nafada federal constituency of Gombe state, presented the money on August 1, Saturday in Gombe, on behalf of Mrs. Buhari.
She told the Boko Haram victims that Buhari’s wife sent him to sympathise with them and gave them a minimal help.
Jibir said: “The President’s wife was told about your conditions and being a caring mother, she decided to assist.
“The amount is just a token to help relieve you of the suffering you are encountering.
“She also prayed for the soul of those that lost their lives in the blast, to rest in peace.”
On his part, Abubakar Sa’ad, medical director of the hospital, praised Mrs. Buhari for reaching out to the affected people.
He said a total of 48 victims of the explosion were receiving and responding to treatment at the hospital.
It would be recalled that two explosions at Gombe central market two weeks ago took over 50 lives and left many people injured.
It should be also noted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has viisited Gombe blast victims.
President Buhari has left Abuja today for the Republic of Benin in his bid to join forces in the war against deadly Boko Haram sect.
