ALGIERS- Secretary General of Iraqi Foreign Affairs Ministry in charge of bilateral relations Nizar Kheir Allah hailed Monday, in Algiers, the Algerian experience in fight against terrorism.
“Algeria has successfully led the difficult experience of fight against terrorism,” said Kheir Allah, at the end of the talks he had with Secretary General of Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdelhamid Senouci Bereksi.
After expressing his country’s willingness to “exchange the experiences and information with Algeria,” the Iraqi official underlined the existence of new prospects of bilateral cooperation in different fields, notably in terms of fight against terrorism.
The current situation in Iraq and Syria “allowed the world to become aware of the danger of extremist thoughts and terrorism which doesn’t distinguish between peoples, religions and nations,” he said, stressing that fighting terrorism “requires a regional and international cooperation.”
Welcoming the historical and cultural relations between the two countries, Kheir Allah expressed his country’s willingness to develop these relations, hailing the Algerian revolution “which serves as an example to other peoples in terms of liberation.”
Concerning the issue of Algerian prisoners in Iraqi jails, he affirmed that legal solutions could be reached, underling the readiness of his country to cooperate at the diplomatic level to reach an understanding and find a legal solution to the issue.
