ALGIERS- The training ship “Soummam 937” landed Tuesday at Algiers port at the end of the summer 2015 instruction campaign for the benefit of officer cadets of the naval Forces.
The training ship, with 99 students on board, including 27 women, was inspected by Commander of the naval Forces Major General Larbi Houli who enquired about the results obtained during the different phases of this instruction campaign.
This annually campaign marks the successful conclusion of the first year of officer cadets of the Naval High School to enable them to apply the knowledge of their theoretical programme.
The session enabled the officer cadets to adapt to the conditions and techniques of the maritime navigation.
It also allowed discovering the peoples’ history and cultures through visits to museums during the training ship’s different stopovers.
Launched on 28 June 2015, this campaign lasted 36 days, including 24 days in high sea and 12 days of stopovers in four ports (Algeria, Belgium, Portugal and Turkey).
